My First 3 Years With the Supernote A5X: Part Two - Using the Device

Welcome to our second article in the series examining my first 3 years with the Supernote A5X. After making the decision to purchase the device, I was very impatient and tracked it through DHL multiple times a day. Luckily, it arrived earlier than expected. Now that I had the A5X, it was time to get started. Below are some things to consider and how I incorporated the device into my workflow.  Don't Let it Sit Probably one of the best pieces of advice I can give after buying a new piece of technology is to  use it!  I know this may seem obvious, but think about it. How many times have we gotten a new gadget and been all excited, only to end up getting frustrated and putting it on a shelf or in a drawer? That would be the biggest mistake you can make if you feel like you made the purchase for the right reasons .  When I first got the Supernote, I started writing with it right away. Luckily, it arrived over a weekend and I was able to play around with the features, get...

Supernote A6X2 as a Reader

In this article we are going to talk about the Supernote A6X2 from the viewpoint of someone wanting to replace their current reading device. I must admit to some mixed feelings on this one going in. As you will see throughout the review, I try to examine this from different reading perspectives. For some, the Nomad is exceptional. Here in the US, you also can use Libby (formerly Overdrive) to send books to Kindle for reading. While it is not seamless, there is a lot of utility in the app. You can still add notes (including via the handwriting r...

Distraction Free Organizing

Introduction I want to start this post by recognizing we live in a highly digital world, and I am as easily distracted as anyone else with shiny new gadgets and devices. However, there is a time to work in the digital space and other times when we need to remove ourselves from an endless torrent of notifications and interruptions. There are strategies you can employ to combine both digital (and in many cases transferable) tools and a more distraction-free experience. For some people, this is as easy as placing your device in airplane mode or do not disturb. For others (me included), superfluous apps (online or offline) are a constant temptation. This article will talk about some of the distraction-free solutions available, with a more detailed list of pros and cons to come later. I will not take the time to rehash the options related to traditional tablets and computers. Pen or Pencil and Paper For those who are very easily distracted, pen and paper are the perfect way to m...
